Cookie notice

Last updated 4 November 2026

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Actorly sets the ones the service needs to work and, only if you say yes, Google Analytics cookies that help us see how people find and use the site. We do not use advertising cookies.

This notice is published under Regulation 5 of the European Communities (Electronic Communications Networks and Services) (Privacy and Electronic Communications) Regulations 2011 and the guidance of the Data Protection Commission.

Cookies we set

These are strictly necessary to provide the service you asked for, so no consent is required for them.

Cookie Set by Purpose Lasts
The Actorly login cookie (its name begins with sb- and it may be split into numbered parts) Actorly, through our sign-in provider Keeps you logged in and proves who you are on every page Until you log out, or about a year of inactivity
The sign-in verifier cookie (its name begins with sb- and ends in code-verifier) Actorly, through our sign-in provider Completes a sign-in or password reset securely A few minutes, during sign-in

Browser storage we use

Some things are kept in your browser's own storage rather than in a cookie. They are never sent to us.

Item Purpose Lasts
Activation email address (session storage) Shows which address to check after you sign up Until you close the browser tab
Your cookie choice (actorly-consent, local storage) Remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics, so we don't ask on every page 12 months, then we ask again

Analytics cookies, only if you accept

When you first visit, a banner asks whether we may use Google Analytics. Nothing below is set unless you press Accept. If you press Reject, or never choose, Google Analytics does not load.

Cookie Set by Purpose Lasts
_ga Google Analytics, for Actorly Tells one visitor from another so visits are counted once 2 years
ga followed by our measurement code Google Analytics, for Actorly Keeps track of the current visit 2 years

Google Analytics does not store your IP address. We never send it your name, email address or anything you write on Actorly, and its advertising features are switched off. See how Google uses this data.

Third parties that may set cookies

These load only when you use the feature in question, and each is governed by that provider's own policy.

Provider When What for

Your choices

You can change your analytics choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of our website pages; if you switch it off, the Google Analytics cookies are deleted. The other cookies we set are needed to keep you logged in, so switching them off means you cannot sign in. You can delete cookies at any time in your browser's settings; you will simply be logged out. The third-party cookies above are set on those providers' own pages and can be controlled in the same way.
